PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

Psychotherapy involves a relationship between people that functions effectively due to clearly defined rights and responsibilities. As a client in psychotherapy, you have certain rights and responsibilities, which are important to understand. There are legal limitations to these rights that you should be aware of. Your psychologist has corresponding responsibilities. The psychotherapy process includes discussing potentially uncomfortable topics, but it can lead to significant benefits such as reduced distress, improved relationships, and increased personal insight. However, results cannot be guaranteed. The first 2-4 sessions will involve a comprehensive evaluation, and an initial treatment plan will be discussed.

RISKS AND BENEFITS OF PSYCHOTHERAPY

Counselling and psychotherapy can bring to light uncomfortable emotions but offer long-lasting benefits like improved personal relationships and reduced emotional distress. While we cannot guarantee specific outcomes, our goal is to work with you towards your personal goals in therapy.

CLIENT-THERAPIST RELATIONSHIP

The relationship between you and your therapist is strictly professional and focused solely on therapeutic treatment. Gifts or any form of trade for services are not appropriate.

  • Expect continuity of care across different services

You can voice concerns about your therapy progress and request a referral or end therapy at any time. You have the right to ask questions and expect a professional relationship with your therapist.
